On January 12, 2023 (Thur.), the Labor Group of Dentons Lee held the HR and Labor Education Seminar for University Hospitals in collaboration with the Hospital Personnel and Labor Manager Council and the Private University Hospital Labor-Management Cooperation Team Heads’ Council for more than 70 officials of university hospitals at the basement hall of Poongsan Building.

As an organization which promotes close ties and amity among member hospitals and contributes to the development of hospitals by exchanging information on personnel and labor management at each hospital, the Hospital Personnel and Labor Manager Council regularly holds training sessions and seminars on HR and labor related fields. And this time, the Council held an offline seminar for the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic with the Labor Group of Dentons Lee.

The hospital industry is being a subject to a number of additional legal regulations including general labor relations laws due to the unique nature of the industry and workplaces. Hospitals, in particular, need to pay special attention to the HR and labor sectors as they employ people with a variety of occupations and types of workers unlike general companies do.

Based on such understanding, Attorney Yong-Moon Kim explained in the Seminar the recent status of labor-management relations, understanding of labor-management relations at hospitals and measures to forge rational labor-management relations, under the theme of “hospital industry and collective labor-management relations.” Also, Attorney Yo-Sub Shim introduced HR and labor issues that hospitals should pay attention to, focusing on major labor rulings made in 2022.
